Après Ski Bars in Lech

Burg Hotel Ice Bar

The first stop for après ski is undoubtedly in Oberlech, a small village on the way down the slopes to Lech which has some very impressive hotels dotted within it. These hotels use the advantage of their spectacular position to present a fabulous and glamorous après ski scene. The Ice Bar and the sun terrace (which is attached to the hotel's restaurant), are two of the hotspots you will find for skiers on their way home. Although you cannot expect anything of the excitement and vivacity that you will experience in neighbouring St. Anton, the Ice Bar can really get going, especially on sunny weekends. This is a perfect place when the sun is shining, however, be warned that the Ice Bar is not the best place to go in chillier weather. On these days you may prefer to head straight down the mountain into a cosier bar with an interior. If you fancy something warmer and more dignified, the Burg Hotel also boasts an extensive Wine Cellar which you can peruse; although, if wine is your passion, we have no higher recommendation than the Hotel Goldener Berg's Wine Cellar, also situated in Oberlech.

Hotel Montana Champagne Bar

The Champagne Bar in Hotel Montana may be a better alternative to the Ice Bar in Hotel Burg if you are ready for an après beverage in Oberlach but do not want to be stuck outside. This bar exudes elegance and style; however, even though it is decorated with graceful candles and a grand piano, this bar still manages to not seem extravagant. The scene here is even more relaxed, this is a place for refined enjoyment with friends or family; no dancing on tables comes anywhere near this place. Due to the bar being attached to a hotel, you will find lots of seating possibilities and hence, lots of privacy. We would highly recommend this bar to people looking for a quiet drink amongst a sophisticated ambiance; but do not expect to get fired up for an evening on the town here, this place will encourage you to have a fine dinner followed by an early night.

The Schneggarei Bar

This bar is a hidden favourite in Lech, the complete pine wood interior offers some ideas of rusticity whilst being completely modern at the same time. Its design indeed, is completely different from any other alpine bar you will find. The quaint pottery that is used to serve you your drinks and wine which is very eccentric, also adds to the charm of the place. This is a very easy-going bar, but it does not exude the charm of many of Lech's more refined drinking facilities. However, this place is hip and simple, it is a perfect middle ground between elegant and rowdy après ski. The pizzas come highly recommended here; however, do not expect any fine dining.

The Tannbergerhof EisBar

For a more lively après ski scene, it is better to go down the mountain to the centre of Lech, where the Tannbergerhof Eisbar is situated. This is the most happening après ski you will find in Lech, with its daily open-air parties attracting crowds of energetic skiers wanting to relax after a hard day on the mountain. They serve a variety of drinks and snacks but we would recommend their world-renowned Glühwein (mulled wine). After you have enjoyed the music on the terrace, you can retreat inside the hotel for the famous Tea Dance that is put on for all you après skiers. The dance is good fun, and gets you merry for evening entertainment. However, as with all bars, do not be disappointed if you turn up out of the main season to find this place not the lively venue you imagined, this is still Lech (a quiet resort).

What We Like

Hus Nr 8

This is a fantastic traditional restaurant, with great food, charming service and a perfect atmosphere. Try the national dishes of Austria and you will not be disappointed.

Cineastic Gondolas

A brilliant event like no other. This artistic extravaganza involves gondola cinemas and live DJs and bands in lift stations. The atmosphere is electric and should not be missed.

Dance Café Arlberg

Party like they did in the 60s. This retro après party is an exceptional event in the Lech calendar. The atmosphere is carefree and entry is free. A throw-back of the glamorous years of skiing of the past.
